There have been plenty of CHANGES in our house over the past month! Most notably, the kids went back to school and I did not. The boys have been going to daycare two days a week over the summer and the other days have been filled with lots of summertime fun. From playdates to sleepovers, from beach trips to day trips, we packed a whole lot into our summer. And now, it is back to laying out clothes the night before, waking up early (more of a change for me than my children), packing lunches, and this year we have HOMEWORK! This year, I did not participate in the laying out of clothes the night before, the lunch packing, or the rushing off to school. The decision to work from home this year and focus more on my family has already paid off. We're more relaxed in the mornings. We're more structured in the afternoons. I get to listen to how their day was when it's fresh in their minds instead of rushing through it to get them to bed on time. The laundry is getting done - and the dishes, too! And from the looks of it below, I must have had time to clean the front glass door. I admit that I am a bit sad that our summertime fun is over, however; I welcome the routine that school brings and am thankful that I now have the flexibility to work from home. Change has been good to us!
I took this first picture the night before school started last year because I was worried we would be in a hurry and not get any photos. I promise, he did wear a shirt to school that day (see below). This year, my youngest got his own sign, too!
