A Scott's Addition Portrait Session with Kylee - Manchester High School Senior Class of 20174/20/2017 Kylee kicked off my senior portrait sessions for the year and I loved using this Richmond area location! We decided to something urban but a little more unique than the typical shockoe bottom/canal walk/belle isle set. So, we headed over to Scott's Addition and it did not disappoint! We hadn't realized Shamrock the Block was also going on that day, so traffic was a bit unfun, but it all worked out. Kylee had her friend on scene to help out, but she didn't need much to get her showing off her smile. Her range of expressions was my absolute favorite! From smiling, to giggling, to serious, and then playful. Thanks for being YOU, Kylee - this was a great session and I love your senior pictures!
A Belle Isle Senior Portrait Session with Taylor - Cosby High School Senior Class of 201710/14/2016 Oh sweet Taylor! What an absolutely fabulous senior session you had! I'm not even sure where to start here. It was the perfect storm of beautiful weather, perfect outfit choices, beautiful smiles, and a really adorable doggie named Sawyer!
We had a great time venturing over to Belle Isle on the James River in Richmond VA on this gorgeous end-of-summer day! With the help of her parents, who were a joy to have with us and also necessary to help manage the four-legged friend, we got some beautiful shots of Taylor with Sawyer! There is no doubt that this girl LOVES her dog! From natural fields, to river rocks, to nighttime city scenes on the bridge, this session has a ton of variety! Thanks Taylor for trusting me with your senior portraits this year! Best wishes to you as you finish your senior year at Cosby High School and plan for a bright future! I had a great time at Allison's senior portrait session featuring locations such as Canal Walk and Shiplock Park by the river in downtown Richmond. With the threat of rain later in the evening, we forged ahead with hair and makeup by the amazing Cameron Carson at my studio space in Ashland! With fresh hair and makeup, we did a set of drape photos for the yearbook and then we were on our way to beat the rain!
First stop was the mural area of the Canal Walk! You'll see from Allison's photos, we captured so many different angles and backgrounds here - and that's why it's always so popular! Allison is such a natural beauty with one of the prettiest smiles I've seen. Every time I took a peek at the back of my camera, I was thrilled to see how the camera LOVED her! Our next stop was Shiplock Park. At this point the skies were looking a bit more threatening, but we managed to get another great set of unique images for Allison here. Thanks again Allison for working with me to create your beautiful senior photos! Best wishes to you as you finish your senior year at James River High School and when you head off to college in the fall! Keep me posted where you decide to go!
Would you believe there was a huge thunderstorm and torrential downpour just an hour before this was taken? So thankful that my terrific cousin Ashley and her sweet girl, Lexie, listened to me when I said we're going to make it work tonight, just come with some patience.
The skies cleared up minutes before our scheduled start time and we ended up having the park all to ourselves! Seriously, the security guard came around to make sure we were okay and let us know that we were practically the only ones left in the park. See, sometimes rain can be a good thing. Lexie has a great sense of style all on her own and really brought her personality to her photo shoot. With a festival theme, we enjoyed hanging out on stage for these photos. And thanks mom for letting us borrow your guitar. It was the perfect prop! After our first set, we changed things up for a little more wanderlust theme. I was a little sad that we couldn't take the canoe out for a spin, but we still got some great shots with them. Lexie's versatility and super smile made this night amazing. Plus I got to hang out with my cousin, so this will go down as one of my favorite sessions for sure! Ashley & Lexie, thanks for allowing me to be your photographer.
